10 Things your Newborn DON’T really need!
Expecting? Great news! First Time mom? Out of the world feeling, Amazing sentiment, Matchless blessing!!
One mistake new parents usually make, that they buy unessential things for their little angel as they are unable to differentiate between important and unnecessary products for their baby. Things which are a total waste and have no much usage should be simply skipped from the purchase list. Rather misspending plenty amount of money on avoidable things, make a list that make sense.
If I talk about myself, i did not have to buy much for my newborn as my parents gifted me most of the stuff. Still I found few needless things, let me assemble the list infront of you. The products I did not use even once are listed below. I believe it’s always a good practice to put forth your experience to make other’s learn from your mistakes.
1. BATH TUB!
As your kiddo is just too small to sit and even to lay him down alone on bathing seat is not a good idea. New moms just can not afford doing this. Especially when it’s winters, impossible for the first time moms as they have got a little heart in regard to their new baby.
What the best thing to do?
Give him bath holding him in one arm, put warm water from one side. Then change the position, hold him in second arm and pour water from other side. Dry him with towel. Give him some hand massage. Make him wear good clothes and wrap!!
Bath Tub or Bath seats should be out of the list.
2. CHANGING TABLE.
It is a sophisticated approach to do so but don’t get out of your budget. Moms get so busy with house chores and managing other tasks at home that they are just seen changing baby clothes in hurry rather than going to the alloted place.
In regular routine, every single thing is happening just too fast that I prefer changing on bed rather using a changing table. But make sure to put a sheet under your baby so that bed sheet don’t get rough. Or Incase if he gives a shower of urine, bed remains clean 😜
I am never in the favour to give babies pacifiers or dummies. They are house of germs according to me. I am not in the opinion to give them feeding bottles as the plastic nipples when not properly sterilized, can spread bacteria.
What so important than your baby?
Your job? Figure? Commitments?
Breastfeed your baby for 2 years then start training him on cups.
4. WIPES WARMER.
It is a needless product. It is of very little use when the baby is born in mid of winters. But still without this, things can go best. “Least important expense“.
5. BABY BASSINET.
Mine one is a total waste I must say. I ask my parents why did they gifted me this and wasted their money?
For moms like me, it’s quite hard to make baby sleep at distance. He sleeps within my arm’s reach on bed and i haven’t even used bassinet for a single time. Remove it from the list.
6. BABY SHOES.
Mothers usually choose wrapping up baby properly. They are mostly covered in blankets. They don’t walk, so shoes can be skipped from the list. But this is one of the most adorable prop of newborns but not an important product to spend money on.
7. PEE-PEE TEEPEE.
It’s a safe approach while changing diaper for your baby boy to use this product. For girls, it’s not that horrible. For boys, there is a big chance that they will pee on you. 😛
Use of sheet under baby and putting up wipe on his penis is a cheaper option. You won’t even have to wash it unlike pee-pee teepee.
8. BATH THERMOMETER.
Rather than buying this instrument, simply check temperature of water with your finger.
9. STUFFED TOYS.
Babies don’t really enjoy stuffed toys at this stage. They start playing with them once they are 6 months by age. So eliminate this from your buying list, also because of the reason that they increase SIDS risk for your baby. To Read more about SIDS Safety CLICK HERE!
10. BABY BEDDING SETS.
I have praiseworthy bedding sets for my little one. But I hardly use them! Watching such colorful and attractive blankets, bed sheets, pillows and not buying them is just irresistible and can’t be skipped I know. But comforters really don’t fall in his required list. Comforters can suffocate him and mom’s can’t rely on separate bedding for such a small baby. Then,
Why purchasing expensive embroided bedding for little soul?
Hope you find this piece of writing helpful in listing down most important and least important products for your babies
Rather go for some good quality clothing, other essential accessories and necessary medication.
